Breakfast Drinks

The Bloody Standard – $6 House made bloody mary mix & vodka. Fernand Petiot claimed to have invented the Bloody Mary in 1921, well before any of the later claims, according to his grand-daughter. He was working in the New York Bar in Paris

Mimosa? Yes, a Mimosa – $6 Champagne & fresh orange juice. It is believed to have been invented in the Hotel Ritz Paris by Frank Meir, in about 1925.

The Proud Mary – $13 A big 20oz bloody mary, garnished with sausage, cheese, bread, and an assortment of pickled veg. Yes, this is a basically a complete balanced meal.

The MANmosa – $12 Champagne & fresh orange juice. This time, a mimosa of formidable size.

Our Story

We take the first meal of the day very seriously. You know, it being the most important meal of the day and all. But first, some history.

Back in 2008 while stretched out on a yoga mat, (actually, I think maybe I was just stretched out) the idea of The Downward Dog was born. The fundamentals were simple: real food at a place where the community could gather together and create memories while eating and drinking delicious things.

In early 2014, the Campus Downward Dog was born. A funky old house with a big yard that could be converted into an amazing patio right across from OSU seemed like a great place to share DD’s tasty food & brews.

Now in 2018, it’s time to circle the wagons and share a different side of our passion. The greatest meal of the day, Breakfast. Our fearless leader of the food world, Executive Chef Ko Atteberry, spent many years honing his breakfast skills at the famed Heathman Restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Needless to say, in the years training under renowned French Chef Philippe Boulot, Chef Ko learned a trick or two.
